Dr Raju Vaishya, Senior Orthopedics & Joint Replacement Surgeon, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital said that practicing yoga for 7-8 weeks regularly can help in increasing the flexibility by 35 per cent.

Many yoga experts from different health institutions expressed their views about how yoga can help defeat several life-threatening and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, stroke, heart attack and diabetes and enhances bone strength, spine and functional health.

The faculty, students, nursing officers and other staff of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, led by Dr Randeep Guleria, the director of AIIMS, marked the celebration of 4th International Day of Yoga through a week-long series of events that culminated in the grand finale of a mass yoga practice in which more than 600 enthusiastic.
